We are glad to announce that the second edition of our popular watercolour set The Colours of Iceland is now available.
The history of this exquisite set, featuring a carefully curated colour selection, begins with David Kremer's journey to Iceland in 2013. It was during this year that promising earths for pigment production were discovered and transported to Germany to be milled into artist pigments. The partnership between Myndlistarvöruverslunin artsupplies.is and Kremer Pigmente began in 2023, and the fruit of their collaboration is this beautiful set, which we proudly present to you.
The colour palette consists of 8 colours of which three are made out of Icelandic pigments and 5 are inspired by the Icelandic landscape. Among colours like Heydalsvegur Yellow, Snaefellsjökull Red, and Brimisvellir Green, you will find tones that further evoke the Icelandic environment. Ultramarine Red, reminiscent of the lupines in bloom during the Icelandic Summer; Thulite, a precious stone from Norway; Kremer White, capturing the essence of snow; and Cobalt Bottle Green, evoking the lush of greens of Summer. Magnetite - a deep, earthy tone completes the selection.
The packaging is a piece of craftsmanship in its own right — produced in collaboration with Reykjavík Letterpress and printed on Fabriano Torchon paper.
