Back in Reykjavik after a vacation in London, Emil Halldorsson is waiting for a call from a beautiful girl, Greta, whom he met on the plane ride home, and he's just put on a pot of coffee when an unexpected--and unwanted--visitor knocks on the door. Emil dives under his bed, hoping to avoid the situation, but Havard--an unsavory man from his past just back in Reykjavik--decides to make himself at home, drinking Emil's booze and entertaining Emil's friends while Emil himself remains trapped under the bed in the adjacent room . . . Bragi Olafsson is the author of several books of poetry, short stories, and five novels. He was a member of The Sugarcubes (Bjork's first band), and is a founder of the publishing company Smekkleysa (Bad Taste). He has also translated Paul Auster's City of Glass into Icelandic. In addition to translating for museums, Janice Balfour has also translated two collections of short stories by Gyrdir Eliasson.
